About the position:
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for monitoring compliance with the processes for the prevention and control of suspicious activities in order to measure the effectiveness of such activities and prepare periodic reports to the Compliance Management and the Compliance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.
It will also be responsible for performing extended due diligence procedures as required. It shall receive suspicious transaction alerts in order to carry out the pertinent investigations and submit them to reports at its discretion.
Responsibilities:
- Review the procedures performed by the compliance analyst as well as those of other staff members in order to evaluate the correct application of the Compliance Manual
- To review in order to validate or reject the notes that the compliance analysts include on customer profiles that may vary the risk exposure level of the company’s customers
- Evaluate the operations reported as suspicious in order to determine the application of internal measures or prepare reports for the corresponding regulatory institutions
- Perform extended due diligence procedures and apply self-certification examinations to customers with significant levels of risk
- Prepare and submit periodic reports to the Compliance Management and the Compliance and Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on the efficiency and effectiveness of internal policies such as making recommendations on processes
What you should know:
- Bachelor’s degree in law, finance or related careers. Master’s, postgraduate or specialization studies in related areas will be valued
- Minimum experience of two or three (2-3) years in the management of regulations and legal compliance policies in companies in the banking and financial sector
- Experience in the design of policies, procedures and controls to prevent operations that may be related to money-laundering, territorial financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction from being carried out in the institution
- Experience in carrying out due diligence investigation procedures as well as extended due diligence through technological systems for reporting purposes As well as experience in preparing and submitting reports to national or international regulatory authorities (FACTA/CRS)
- Knowledge and understanding of local and international laws regarding the prevention of money laundering, know your customer, and other related risk areas
- Ability to write and provide reports to the Compliance Management about suspicious operations subject to report, internal processes performance and efficiency in risk identification to mitigate or answer requirements when the information is required
Added value if you have knowledge in:
- Specialization in Compliance, with ACAMS or FIBA /AML certification
- Principal Executive License issued by the Superintendencia de Mercado de Valores
